Last week’s fall in crude oil and gasoline stocks suggests that growth in demand in the US is continuing to outpace growth in supply. However, following a strong recovery from its pandemic-induced lows, we suspect that US oil demand is now nearing a peak, which is one reason why we expect oil prices to trend broadly sideways between now and the end of the year.
