The raft of preliminary Q3 GDP data due to be published this month is likely to be disappointing, showing a slowdown in growth across the region. While domestic demand seems to have held up reasonably well, most of the slowdown appears to have been due to the weakness of external demand. On a positive note, timely survey data suggest that growth has strengthened at the start of Q4.
