Annual Turkish GDP growth slowed more sharply than expected in Q3, but the economy appears to have fared better in the fourth quarter and is still set to outperform the region over the coming years. However, today’s data provide further evidence of the increasingly unbalanced nature of growth. The widening current account deficit remains the biggest concern for policymakers.
