Polish interest rates: time to pause

The statement following today’s Polish interest rate hike was more dovish than in recent months, highlighting the risks to the recovery and the hope that front-loading monetary tightening will support a soft landing. With global commodity prices set to moderate and the domestic economy set to grow more slowly, we continue to believe the further rate hikes priced in by the markets are overdone.
