Polish interest rates close to peaking

The accompanying statement to today’s Polish MPC meeting was more hawkish than we had expected but that doesn’t necessarily mean that interest rates have much further to rise. If, as we expect, core euro-zone economies start to lose steam over the coming quarter or so and oil prices start to drop back, then the relatively aggressive hikes priced into the market over the next year are unlikely to materialise.
