Today’s news that Hungarian industrial production grew by a massive 5.4% m/m in May could be another sign that a weaker euro is actually helping manufacturers in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). But even if it is, and despite the fact that we expect the single currency to fall further over the next eighteen months, we doubt that any boost to industry in CEE will last for long.
