Turkey Current Account (Aug.)

Turkey’s balance of payments data for August were, on the face of it, encouraging as the current account deficit fell to its lowest monthly level since 2009. But it’s worth noting that the decline in the external shortfall was driven by a drop in imports, which may reflect weakening domestic demand. And exports performed poorly.
