The decline in Russian inflation to just 2.2% y/y last month, coming alongside weakness in the latest hard activity data and dovish comments from central bank governor Elvira Nabiullina, means we now expect a 50bp cut in the policy rate (to 7.25%) at Friday’s central bank Board meeting (our previous forecast was for a 25bp cut).
