Singapore's upswing will stay in good shape

Singapore announces its latest budget on Thursday, and we anticipate that the key measures will include supports for low-income groups to cope with higher food and fuel prices. In addition, the budget will likely also focus on strategic initiatives to reduce inequality and raise productivity growth. The budget should set the stage for an early general election, which may well be held by the middle of the year.
