Countries from across the region are due to publish third quarter GDP figures over the coming weeks. The latest monthly data suggest that after slowing sharply in the first half of the year, economic activity across Emerging Asia (excluding China and India) has stabilised, albeit at a very weak rate. Meanwhile, Malaysia is due to announce its budget for 2020 next week. The key thing to look out for is whether the government will ease back on its plans to tighten fiscal policy given the poor economic outlook.
