Growth in Taiwan to recover after weak third quarter

Figures due to be released over the coming week are likely to show that growth in Taiwan slowed sharply last quarter. However, with prospects for exports improving and domestic demand likely to remain robust, we think growth will start to recover soon. An economic rebound would reduce the need for further policy loosening, and we expect Taiwan’s central bank will keep interest rates on hold over the coming year.
