Renewed rate cuts likely in the Philippines by year-end

The Philippines central bank (BSP) today left its main policy rate on hold at 4%, as expected. Although interest rates are likely to remain on hold for the next few months, with the crisis in the euro-zone set to intensify and global demand likely to disappoint, policy loosening is likely to resume by year-end.
