Is Thailand’s crisis any nearer to being resolved?

Contrary to some of the initial commentary, we are not convinced that the military’s imposition of martial law has brought resolution of Thailand’s political crisis any closer. There are a number of scenarios for how the crisis may now evolve but protracted, confidence-damaging uncertainty is likely to persist. We are downgrading our 2014 GDP growth forecast from 2% to 1%.
