Australia’s GDP growth accelerated in Q2 and was led by exports and household spending. The economic outlook remains bright, with the mining boom set to sustain above-trend growth in 2010-11. The upshot is that we continue to forecast that the Reserve Bank (RBA) will tighten its policy rate far sooner and far more aggressively than the markets have currently priced in.
