A slumping currency, down by a fifth since the start of the year, a dreadful business environment, and an uncertain security situation are some of the challenges facing Myanmar as it prepares to go to the polls next month. Resolving these problems is the key to the country fulfilling its potential and emulating other fast-growing Asian countries which managed to sustain growth of above 10% for a number of years.
