Commodity prices have given back some of the previous week’s gains, due in part to some mixed signals from the US and Chinese economies. Nonetheless, the overall tone remains positive, helped by expectations that global central banks will err on the side of keeping monetary policy loose for longer. Renewed weakness in the US dollar and buoyant equity markets have also lifted the mood.
