Will the rebound in the platinum price be sustained?

South African labour disputes have caused platinum prices to rebound. We think that weak demand will cause prices to fall back by around 10% before the end of this year. However, recent events have supported our long-standing view that rising production costs and output losses would set prices rising again in 2013 - a view we continue to hold.
