Thai rice prices likely to come off the boil

The rebound in the price of Thai rice over the last few months has been driven by the suspension ofgovernment sales and reinforced by the recent stock write-offs. However, Thailand’s rice stocks willstill be huge and the new military government is resuming stock sales at an even greater pace thanbefore the suspension. This should pull prices back down to their recent lows over the next few years.
