The People’s Bank has taken another step to push down borrowing costs. China’s economy is still operating far below its normal capacity but, with only eight new infections reported nationally in the latest daily figures, the central government is now pushing harder for a return to economic normality. As long as infections don’t spike again, PBOC easing should provide a tailwind to the recovery.
