Leadership signals sustained focus on financial risks

Relatively few substantive decisions appear to have been made at the National Financial Work Conference but statements about the need to limit financial risks are significant. They suggest that the tighter regulatory oversight of credit in recent months will continue indefinitely. This would be positive for the long-run outlook, although economic growth could be more volatile if policymakers were in future less quick to respond to signs of weakness with stimulus.
