Business intentions indicate sluggish growth ahead

The latest Business Outlook Survey suggests that, while slightly more businesses expect future sales to pick-up over the next 12 months, investment intentions have been scaled back and hiring intentions remain moderate. Overall, this suggests that, rather than accelerate, the economy will continue to grow at a fairly sluggish pace this year, posting annual average GDP growth of around 1% in 2013.
