Although the Teranet-National Bank measure shows house price inflation slowing slightly to 4.9% in December, from 5.2%, price gains are still outpacing growth in household incomes. The upshot is that the housing bubble is only getting worse. With the economic outlook now threatened by a slump in oil prices, we are even more concerned than before about a potentially severe housing bust.
