The new forecasts published in February’s Statement of Monetary Policy show that the RBA is largely expecting Australia’s slow growth and low underlying inflation problems to be solved over the next couple of years. In that sense, the RBA is almost assuming that the economy performs perfectly from here. This rarely happens and we believe the RBA will ultimately be disappointed.
