After leaving interest rates on hold at 1.5% today, the Reserve Bank of Australia remained fairly optimistic on the outlook for activity even though the economy may have contracted in the third quarter. We’re not too concerned about the outlook either, although the recent weakness supports our view that stubbornly low underlying inflation may prompt the RBA to cut rates to 1.0% next year.
