Kenyan rate hikes possible next year

The Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) kept interest rates on hold today and, with inflation having peaked, pressure to raise rates in the near term has eased. But a large current account deficit that is being funded by short-term inflows of capital means that rate hikes are likely in the second half of 2014.
