S&P’s outperformance may endure if big remains best

The S&P 500’s outperformance of many benchmark indices outside the US since the outbreak of coronavirus may not be surprising, given that it was also a salient feature of much of the previous decade. While we wouldn’t be surprised if the outperformance continued for a bit, the reason for it has changed.
