The 0.1% m/m rise in Case-Shiller 20-City house prices in July is unlikely to mark the start of a sustained and significant recovery in prices. We still expect prices to fall back a bit later this year. And even when they do eventually stabilise, a structural deficit in demand will prevent them from rising on a consistent basis until 2014.
