Annual house price growth held steady in December, with prices up 18.8% over 2021. But with mortgage rates now at their highest since July 2019, affordability constraints will soon cut the amount potential buyers can bid for a home which will cool the market. We expect house price growth in 2022 to slow to around 3% by the end of the year.
