The sharp decline in the international trade deficit to a nine-month low of $38.7bn in October, from $44.6bn, suggests that our 2.5% forecast for annualised fourth-quarter GDP growth will need to be revised higher. (We'll wait for next week's data deluge before firming up a new forecast.)
