Will the end of the stamp duty holiday signal a surge in transactions?

Previous experience suggests that a 20-40% increase in transactions in the final months of the stamp duty holiday is possible. However, given that only first-time-buyers (FTBs) are eligible for the relief and the darkening economic outlook, we expect a more moderate increase approaching March 2012.
