Activity struggles to regain lost ground (May 10)

It is possible that the renewed mood of caution in the housing market might lift once the election has passed. Yet the result will not materially affect the short-term economic growth outlook. And with the impending fiscal squeeze set to dent household incomes further and heighten uncertainty in the labour market, house prices look vulnerable to renewed falls in the second half of the year.
