The confirmation of an effective vaccine in recent weeks has improved the economic outlook. But rising unemployment, a higher exposure to smaller retailers and ongoing travel restrictions will result in standard shop rents continuing to fall next year. Even if they stabilise in 2022 as we expect, this will still leave rental values 15% lower than at the end of 2019.
