Despite the lockdown, a recent pick-up in footfall suggests that people are returning to the capital, which, if it continues as non-essential stores re-open, would be welcome news for London’s hard-hit retailers. But we think a slow return of office workers in H2 and prolonged restrictions on international travel will result in further falls in Central London retail rents in 2021.
