Retail divergence to intensify

Capital value growth is expected to fall across the board this year. However, outside of the retail sector, falls are expected to be modest. Nevertheless, given the solid outlook for economic growth, and the fact that interest rates are expected to remain low by historical standards, the commercial property sector is not likely to experience a hard landing. Even with a no deal Brexit outcome, declines in capital values are expected to be mild compared to past falls.
