Tunisian protests, US ‘green’ shift, Saudi vaccines

Protests in Tunisia this week add to the challenges facing the government to put the public finances onto a sustainable footing. Elsewhere, US President Joe Biden has started to set out a greener energy policy, which supports our view that peak oil demand is likely to be reached towards the end of this decade and would have a large impact on the Gulf. And finally, Saudi officials approved two more vaccines in an effort speed up their programme. Nonetheless, it looks like it could take a little longer for restrictions to be lifted compared with the rest of the Gulf.
