US imports of semi-manufactured silver remained subdued in September, suggesting that industrial demand is yet to recover. In contrast, investors continued to buy into falling prices, boosting demand for coins. Silver prices have since fallen further, in sympathy with gold ahead of the first Fed rate hike, but strong retail demand should help set a floor around current levels.
