Concerns about the scale of the slowdown in China continued to weigh on metals prices in September. The decision by the US Fed to delay the first interest rate rise only provided temporary relief. As a result, the S&P GSCI industrial metals index fell by around 2% last month and by close to 10% in the third quarter as a whole.
