Data released later this month are likely to show that after having stagnated for much of the past year, Brazil’s economy roared back to life in Q3 on the back of substantial policy stimulus. But while GDP looks on course to expand at a decent pace in Q4 too, the key to sustainable growth lies in rebalancing the economy away from consumption and towards investment. On this front the news is less encouraging.
