Peru keeps rates on hold as currency concerns resurface

The Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP) kept interest rates at 4.25% last night and is unlikely to make any changes to its benchmark rate until well into 2013. Concerns about the strength of the currency mean that any near-term tightening is more likely to come via further macro-prudential measures.
