Q1 data revealed that the Mexican economy expanded at its slowest annual rate since emerging from recession in 2009, but we suspect that the slowdown was just a blip rather than the start of a trend. On the contrary, we continue to expect output to expand by about 3.5% this year and for Mexico to outperform Brazil.
