Policymakers in both Chile and Peru left interest rates unchanged at 4% last night and we expect above target inflation to restrict the room for rate cuts in the second half of the year. On balance, we think the easing cycle in Chile is over, while we expect just one 25bp reduction (to 3.75%) in Peru.
