The dovish tone of the Colombian central bank’s monetary policy announcement supports our view that interest rates will remain lower for longer than most expect. We would not rule out further rate cuts, especially if the external environment takes another turn for the worse. But on balance, we expect rates to remain unchanged at 3.25% for at least a year with only modest hikes thereafter.
