Colombian interest rates still have further to rise

The Central Bank of Colombia (BANREP) hiked interest rates by 25bps to 4.25% on Friday night. Although policymakers softened their tone from previous meetings, we still expect rising inflation to ensure that rates reach 5.0% by year-end before remaining on hold throughout 2012.
