The Central Bank of Colombia (BANREP) increased interest rates by 25bps to 5.25% on Friday night. With concerns about the strength of the peso and unbalanced growth coming back onto the agenda, we doubt that there will be further aggressive rate hikes. However, in the absence of a sharp deterioration in the external environment the prospect for rate cuts this year has declined.
