April’s manufacturing PMI survey for Brazil contains little in the way of good news. Not only does the drop in the headline index suggest that industrial output is falling once again, but the forward looking components of the survey suggest that a meaningful pick-up is unlikely over the coming months. There is nothing here to indicate that manufacturers are yet reaping the benefits of a weaker currency.
