The 5% y/y drop in Mexican industrial production in March is largely old news, but the breakdown of the headline figure was more noteworthy and suggests that the manufacturing sector has been hit harder than mining and utilities. Survey data point to the contraction in manufacturing output deepening to around -15% y/y in the coming months.
