While Japan’s stock market has largely shrugged off positive developments on the vaccine front, there’s little doubt that a vaccine would speed up the recovery of Japan’s services and export sectors. If sufficient quantities became available by early next year to protect health care workers and the elderly, we would revise up our 2021 GDP growth significantly.
