The Bank of Japan tweaked its qualitative assessment of the economy today, changing a few words here and there to suggest a more positive outlook. However, we will have to wait until the latest forecasts for economic activity and prices are published at the end of the month to confirm the extent to which the Policy Board is confident in the sustainability of the recovery and its implications for inflation.
