The Bank of Japan will probably extend the deadlines for some of its lending programmes by one year at the upcoming meeting. But having upgraded its assessment of the economy at the December meeting, there is little chance of new stimulus being announced. We expect the Bank to leave its policy rate as well its 10-year yield target unchanged for the foreseeable future.
