Will the dollar’s boost to US equities last?

The recent weakness of the dollar has provided a boost to the US stock market which we do not expect to last. Admittedly, we do not anticipate another big increase in the US currency’s trade-weighted value. So the performance of US equities should not be hampered in the way that it was during much of 2014 and 2015. But we do expect the dollar to rise a little through the end of next year, rather than to continue to decline.
